 Chandrayaan-1 was India's first lunar probe, launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on October 22, 2008. The mission aimed to explore the moon's surface and gather scientific data to enhance our understanding of Earth's celestial neighbor. Equipped with eleven scientific instruments, Chandrayaan-1 conducted a comprehensive study of the lunar surface, including mapping its topography, mineral composition, and presence of water ice. The Moon Impact Probe (MIP), part of the mission, made history by being the first Indian spacecraft to land on the moon's surface on November 14, 2008.
