In 2023, India became the fourth nation to successfully land a spacecraft on the Moon . The success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission helped establish India as a capable space power and bolstered its growing space ambitions. It consists of Lander and Rover configuration. It will be launched by LVM3 from SDSC SHAR, Sriharikota. The propulsion module will carry the lander and rover configuration till 100 km lunar orbit. The propulsion module has Spectro-polarimetry of Habitable Planet Earth (SHAPE) payload to study the spectral and Polari metric measurements of Earth from the lunar orbit. Lander payloads:  Chandra’s Surface Thermophysical Experiment (ChaSTE) to measure the thermal conductivity and temperature; Instrument for Lunar Seismic Activity (ILSA) for measuring the seismicity around the landing site; Langmuir Probe (LP) to estimate the plasma density and its variations. A passive Laser Retroreflector Array from NASA is accommodated for lunar laser ranging studies. Rover payloads:...

Chandrayaan-1 was India's first lunar probe, launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on October 22, 2008. The mission aimed to explore the moon's surface and gather scientific data to enhance our understanding of Earth's celestial neighbor. Equipped with eleven scientific instruments, Chandrayaan-1 conducted a comprehensive study of the lunar surface, including mapping its topography, mineral composition, and presence of water ice. The Moon Impact Probe (MIP), part of the mission, made history by being the first Indian spacecraft to land on the moon's surface on November 14, 2008. It transmitted data before its impact, providing valuable insights into the lunar soil composition. Chandrayaan-1 operated successfully until August 2009 when ISRO lost communication with the spacecraft. Despite its premature end, the mission achieved several milestones and contributed valuable data to the global scientific community. Chandrayaan-1 demonstrated India's c...

Which is the first Indian space exploration? Aryabhata - First Indian Satellite was launched on April 19, 1975 . It was launched from the former Soviet Union. It provided India with the basis of learning satellite technology and designing. During 1975-76, ISRO along with NASA developed means of using space communications system for TV broadcasting. ISRO is one of the six government space agencies in the world that possesses full launch capabilities, can deploy cryogenic engines, can launch extraterrestrial missions and operate a large fleet of artificial satellites. ISRO is one of the four government space agencies to have soft landing (unmanned) capabilities. Vikram Sarabhai was the founder of ISRO. ISRO was  formed on August 15, 1969. ISRO's remarkable track record is a living testament to its accomplishments. The cadre of engineers and scientists at ISRO has crafted an array of launch vehicles, homegrown satellites, and associated technologies that cater to diverse domains...

India has a rich history of scientific  exploration dating back thousands of years. From ancient contributions in mathematics, astronomy, and medicine to modern advancements in space research and technology, Indian scientists have made significant contributions globally. Some notable achievements include India's Mars Orbiter Mission (Mangalyaan), Chandrayaan missions to the moon, and advancements in fields like biotechnology, information technology, and renewable energy. Additionally, India has a growing presence in international collaborations and scientific research. India has a venerable history of scientific exploration, dating back to ancient times. Early Indian mathematicians developed the concept of zero and the decimal system, laying the foundation for modern mathematics. Astronomy flourished with the development of the Siddhanta, ancient texts that included detailed astronomical observations and calculations. In the field of medicine, Ayurveda, a system of tradition...
